Posting has been a bit slow here on Sagunto Star, but new topics are always cropping up in the forums. Here are a couple of new topics:
NURSES & CAREGIVERS IN JAPAN
Saguntonian Joseph Benosa along with a number of nurses and caregivers had an opportunity to visit with Philippine President Gloria Macapagal Arrowo when she went to visit the training facilities at the Association for Overseas Technical Scholarship (AOTS), the first technical cooperation organization on a private basis in Japan. The main purpost of AOTS is to promote international economic cooperation and enhance mutual economic development and friendly relations between the Philippines (and other countries) and Japan.

Joseph and colleagues have been in Japan for a month now. They are presently completing a six-month Nihongo language immersion course to prepare them to work as health care providers in Japan.
Visit the forum for additional photos and videos of the visit.
SAGUNTO FARMERS IN JEOPARDY OF LOSING 2.5 MILLION LOAN
What started out as a conversation about our backyard gardens evolved into an exchange about the difficulty the Sagunto Farmers are facing in accessing the funds promised to them by Mayor Kimi. Visit the forum for the details of this story.

As of this posting, we’ve heard unconfirmed reports that the farmers now have the funds they were entitled to. Stay tuned for further developments regarding the future of the farmers when Mayor Kimi returns from her well deserved vacation.
