Mayor Mina Joy Pangasinan receives deed of donation from Gov. Espino

Sison is one of the towns selected to receive medical and surgical equipment that were distributed by the Governor on September 19 in front of the Capitol. The turn-over ceremony, attended by municipal mayors, members of the provincial board, department heads of the provincial government, and DAP (Development Academy of the Philippines) officials, was held in conjunction with the signing of the agreement with the DAP to implement the development of a quality management system for the hospitals and public health services in Pangasinan.

DAP President, Mr. Antonio D. Kalaw Jr and Gov. Amado Espino sign MOA for “Development of a quality management system (QMS) certifiable to international standard organization (ISO) 9001:2008 for the hospital and public health services of the provincial government of Pangasinan”

Pangasinan Governor Amado Totaan Espino Jr. says that “this is a timely act because we are at the stage now that we should be modernized in managing our records, transparency, accountability and the proper management of two things especially of our two resources, money and personnel.”

A promising statement for the health system of Pangsinan indeed!

The governor is optimistic that this is a step towards improving the health services for its citizens in remote areas of the province. He also stated that Pangasinan is now at 90% compliance with the standards set by the Department of Health.

This post was updated September 20, 2011 at 11:42 pm – We first assumed that Sison is also a recipient of the ambulance. It has since been confirmed that Sison was awarded the medical and surgical equipment but not the ambulance at this time.
