Online newsletter for the citizens of Sagunto, Sison, Pangasinan, Philippines
The people of Sison have spoken and spoken rather loudly. Amidst debates, corruption charges, alleged buy offs, acts of violence and negative campaigns that has become, sadly, a norm in Philippine politics, the votes have been tallied and winners in the 2010 Elections have been declared.

Before the official proclamation, a last ditch effort from Farinas supporters rallied in front of the municipal hall. While the atmosphere was understandably full of tension especially after the attempted bombing at the home of mayor-elect Mina Joy Pangasinan, the protesters eventually disbursed and peace is again restored in Sison. The incident is now under investigation but no one has yet been arrested.

Now the hard work for the newly elected officials begin as they heal election wounds and continue the work of propelling Sison towards a better future.
Below are some photos taken during the brief unrest.
