Donations Needed for Halloween in Sagunto

October 24th, 20099 Comments

It is a long standing tradition for Sagunto to host the annual Halloween celebration. This is a project by the young people for the young people of Sagunto. This year, understandably, the funds for this event is lacking. Our young leaders, SK Chairwoman Ellaine and SK Kagawad Gemillaine sent an appeal for donations so they can still hold a reduced version of previous celebrations. This year, they have decided to forego the basketball tournament and will simply hold a costume contest.

They acknowledge that this event is not a priority but it would be a great morale booster especially for the young people whose families were affected by the storms. Proceeding with the Halloween/All-Saints-Day celebration will be a step in going forward with the recovery process; a sign that life will go on as before even as residents rebuild what the storm destroyed.

Dear Sir/Madam,

The Sangguniang Kabataan has been always pursuing its goal to uplift our Barangay youth to prevent them from drug abuse in any form of delinquency through extending its program in matters of physical challenges in sports and also camaraderie in matters of socialization and participation to different talent programs.

Through this mission and commitment, we will be pursuing a Halloween Party Night in the 1st day of November, 2009 at exactly 8:30 P.M. It is a worthwhile program activity for our fellow youth and kabarangayans to enjoy socialization and also to develop the talents of the participants. We invite you to be our partners In pursuing this endeavour by providing a cash donation for the prizes and being with us in the said occasion.

It is in this program, that the youth would realize the importance of being good citizens by virtue of social games and doing what is favorable in the community. We thank you for making this intention a success.

May the Lord continually pour his blessing to always.

Truly yours,

Hello SK officials who are coordinating the forthcoming Brgy. Halloween party! There is a message that the affair will not be pursue this year due to the calamities being experienced, just let us know I just want a confirmation about this. thanks!

  5. EMILY says:

i think we can still hold programs on limited funds. what are those big karaoke machines doing? just 500 pesos would be enough to hold a loud sound system good to cover the whole plaza, right? there is no need to make it lavish. people just want to gather together, see something funny, and share ideas on what to do in case of calamities. could officials give some talks on calamity preparedness too? i think many people will understand how difficult times are, and so should also make some adjustment and employ extreme flexibility…tighten our belts! ask old winners to donate their old trophies (change the plates to new) or simply grant a chocolate prize. After all, it’s only popularity and fun that performers wish for, correct? keep the tradition going, but make the preparation adapted to the current times. recycle resources. thanks all for thinking about our people’s conditions as well as emotional well-being.

  6. eva says:

yep no problem about donations i just want to make a confirmation about what they told me that they will freeze the party for now so we know what to do also.

  7. EMILY says:

Just in case some funds arrive with a little excess, can we award those teams who did some repairs of our roads and cliffs to prevent further erosion, so not only basketball players get their recognition but the ever responding rescuers? how about those youth who want to express their energy by helping our farmers fix their eroding fields. i think the objectives listed above are wonderful..and woud become greater if the activities set to achieve them would include the examples and initiatives of the able men and women who can do more repairs and rehabilitation for our ailing farms and environment. that way, we can increase a bit our donations. now the question is…tuloy po ba ang event? league at pa costume contest? sori po sa inquiries. another question, di po ba may nag project noon ng sound system? ano na po kaya nangyari, bakit mahal pa rin po ang rent? ano po ba pwedeng sound system na improvised para makabuo sa future. ano pong wattage at kilohertz kailangan? meron ata dyan sa mga recycle appliance shop, makatingin nga.

where we are now there is a strong epidemic. children are getting sick. our neighborhood must do something soon. i’m beginning to think these are signs of the times… ;-(

Solicitations are always ok but being a concerned citizennof sagunto I have a lot of observations to say.If we indeed are very concerned with them ,not wanting to go into drugs and be worthwhile part of sagunto society.do these activities are the best event we can we think always and do over and over again? Are there no worthwhile productive character building and leadership skills enhancent and intellectual activities to hone their life for preparation to adulthood ? What I’m driving at here is that aside from these usual stuffs of solicitations for these activities, the barangay pffcials should create Educational activities (book reading, environmenta quizzes, inventions etc),teen-age early pregnancies issues, and so and so forth.wla bang marunong mag-isip at Hindi puro superficial tapal ang Nagagawa?there should be solutions to somehow augment problems arising evry now and then.but the problem is “they don’t care about the recurring issues .for example, create awareness campaign, teach when crisis occur nd how to prevent confusions.the CNN awardee was so genuine and creative,he teaches street childen by just walking thru kariton (books and tools inside).gone are the days of relying forever in donations and solicitations. The decade of empowerment,self-reliance and will should be observed. Please ……an advocate of thru deeds and action….I’m seeing things differntly pardon me-CONVULUTEDBRAIN
