Online newsletter for the citizens of Sagunto, Sison, Pangasinan, Philippines
On the afternoon of January 3, 2009 our loving mother and Lola quietly slipped away to a better home.
TEODORA CASTILLO BONGOG, daughter of the late Serapio Castillo and Angela Pecdasen was born on March 10, 1922 in Sagunto, Sison, Pangasinan, Philippines.
On December 5, 1940 she married Ireneo Bongog, also from Sagunto where they built their family and home. Teodora was a pious and spiritual woman who walked with Christ at the United Church of Christ in the Philippines (UCCP). The church and her faith played an important role throughout her life.
Cherishing her memory are her daughter, Virginia Bongog Simpson (Walter – deceased) and three granddaughters: Jeanette (Aaron Moore), Ophelia Grace (Jody Glasser) and Sherry Jo; great-granddaughters Asienne, Ambrielle, Amara, Josephine, and Angela; son-in-law, Jose R. Pasibe and sister, Rhodensia ‘Oden’ DeLaPena. Five brothers and two sisters preceded her in death: Sion Castillo, Ricardo Castillo,Victor Castillo, Ellen Castillo, Satur Castillo, Diosdado Palit-Ang, and Apolonio Palit-ang. Also remembering her with fondness and love are a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

The time that the Family is preparing for the Service of Thanksgiving for the Life of Our Lola Dora we are at the United Church here in Orangeville having a Thanksgiving Service for the Life of our Church Music Director Martin James and I can’t resist thinking for the Family too…”Rejoice and Be glad for this is the Day that we can say Thanks be to God for the Life of this Mother/ Lola/ Friend who was dearly Loved was given back to His Creator”.
Kadakayo, nga napanawan daydi Lola Dora(I can vividly remember when my late mum, said that the late Lolo Irineo was her pangamaen kano(just not sure how far removed) and now that I’ve seen the picture,I can now remember her as the gracious, and always smiling grandlady nga um umay met bumisita idiay Labayug idi no kasta nga agbakasyon. As they say, immuna laeng ni lola and we will be sure to meet her there where she is now,to the immediate family accept my heartfelt nga pannakipagrikna iti ipupusay na,ket let the memories of her life be an inspiration to all of us.
Ay kakabsat, gagayem, ayayaten nga katribu; a BIG THANK YOU for all of your moral support and condolences. We are all so grateful for your touching show of care to us and all of Lola Dora’s loved ones who are left to grieve. She really did touch so many lives in her very simple ways. She left quite an empty hole in our hearts and we are consoled by the thought of her finally at rest and no longer in the pain that she was in. She lived a very full life, she touched many and loved so much. We shall miss her presence but her memory will live on. You eased our pain in joining us in our grief. Thank you for sharing your memories of Lola.
