2008 Sison Fiesta

Upon the newly built town square and under the cover of stars, the town of Sison, Pangasinan celebrated its 146th Founding Anniversary on December 14, 15 & 16, 2008. The celebration, led by Sison’s indefatigable mayor, Kimi Cojuangco, was another affair to remember, as most events in Sison seem to have been ever since the mayor took over the helm. Mayor Kimi’s welcome address expressed her thanks to all the people who had lent her support and courage as she led this once sleepy town into the limelight.

Sison Woodcrafts

Mayor Kimi and Congressman Mark O. Cojuangco continue to lend their support to their constituents by encouraging them to hone their crafts in order to create more successful businesses for themselves and for the town as a whole. There are many talented craftspeople in Sison, most notably the woodcarvers and furniture makers who set up shops along the highway from Agat to Poblacion Central.

Artacho Students Lead Sison in Taekwondo

SISON TAEKWONDO TEAM (ELEM. LEVEL) OVERALL CHAMPION OF TRIAD MEET

The Sison District Taekwondo Team (Elementary Level) bagged the Overall Championship in the Triad Meet held at Pozorrubio, Pangasinan on November 12, 2008.

The fact that this is the 1st Taekwondo Competition that the Sison District Team competed in and the contestants only had three weeks to practice before the competition, the Artacho Elementary School and Don Valentine Torres Elementary School were very enthusiastic enough to show their talents in this sport.

Their Trainer Mr. Benedicto Desierto and their Coach Mrs. Josephine Juralbal of the Artacho National High School and Elementary Department gave them plenty of encouragements and motivations when their players were quite discouraged when they saw that their opponents wore complete set of uniforms but through their support, the players/team were competent enough and won game.
