Rice Recipes or Bago Recipes Wanted

Hello all,

 I participate in Lasang Pinoy, a monthly blogging event promothing Filipino Cuisine. This month, the theme is RICE and I am hosting the event in my Cooked From the Heart food blog. I am thinking of making tapey and found this tapey recipe on the web but I still have to find the right yeast to use. I don’t think the little packets of yeast sold at my grocery store will cut it.

I would appreciate your input as to what would be considered a Bago recipe with rice in it. If you have tips on making tapey those would be great too.

    About the tapey making diak ammo ngamin diay bubod ba out of rice met lang didiay no koma adda ammom nga agawid from Pinas agpagatang kan ti uray mano ta di met madadael ket ngem no yeast I dont think nga isu didiay tho adda met la yeast nan sa. Mang Nida ag interview ka man ti baket dita Rosario no kasano aramiden bubod isamiram no agpalengke kan a thank you post mo met lng ditoyen.
    Who knows ma discover to ni nette nga rice wine maker or best in making tapey huh! BAgo daytoy a hahha!

    Sis Evs, ania pay ti mayat nga rice recipe nga mabalin ko padasen? Adda ammom nga authentic Bago recipe using Rice?

    I was reading other Igorot websites, and was surprised to learn that rice was not a traditional staple of the Igorot? That rice used to be reserved for the privilleged and kamote is the daily bread so to speak rather than rice. Interesting, no?

    Aye, Agkakaimas nga makan makapalagip. I like tapey so much superb. I can eat it for early morning any time, kunak man laengenen. Acutally adda pay laeng ti ires-reservak ditoy fridge ta in case of emergency. Innaramid ni auntie Lydia,asawa ni uncle Dencio. Nalaing nga agaramid. Ayna sobra ti yam yam na. Uray saan ko nga maala ti panagaramid ngem, this how she do it. Cooked rice, let it cool down then she sprinkle the powdered bubod. Then she keep it in the fully covered or sealed container.And keep it in the warm and dark place. It make a lot of sense. I will try to ask her tomorrow the exact recipe. It’s true what mng. Emz said that if you cook and eat all this baka pang sumo candidate ti labas ha ha ha. Good luck anyway.

    Emz, great suggestions! I’ll have to try some of them out as soon as I can find the ingredients. I’m thinking of making kutsinta too, I just have to find the lye. Punta ako sa Asian market mamaya.

    Aye Boyet, aramidek man dayta nga fried rice for breakfast. Sakan to parabawan ti itlog, nagimasen. hehe!

    Saguntobreed, saan ko pay man nanggeg dayta turon nga diket. That sounds interesting. Kasla ngarud kankanen dayta nga binalkot ti lumpia wrapper then fried?
