Celebrate the Sison Town Fiesta!

Jeanette on Nov 30th 2007

Here is another update on the activities that kicks off the fiesta season in Sison from Kagawad Loejan Anudon.

COME HOME AND LET US ALL BE TOGETHER IN CELEBRATING OUR 2007 TOWN FIESTA”

These are the words of our very own Honorable Vice-Mayor, Bensaulozacheus Marinas, the son of the late former Vice Mayor, Ben Marinas.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at PhotobucketThis young and fine-looking Vice Mayor is the Executive Chairman of the Sison Town Fiesta 2007. With the full support and assistance of his better half, Madam. Juliet Marinas, who is also the Executive Assistant to the Office of the Mayor, and with the full backing of Mayor Kimi S. Cojuangco, Vice-Mayor Marinas excellently designed this magnificent forthcoming grand festival. The splendid conception of this forthcoming event is credited to the Honorable Mayor Kimi Conjuangco and the duo with the full cooperation and participation of the Honorable Members of the Sanggunian Bayan and all municipal staffs.

The highlight of the Sison Town Fiesta is the “ANG LOLA KONG REYNA” popularity contest where four beautiful grandmas are vying for the crown. Mrs. Irene M. Florendo represents Sisonians in the United States of America, Mrs. Tessie C. Alboukharey represents the United Kingdom, Mrs. Maura B. Garcia represents Hong-Kong and Macau and last but not the least, the current holder of the yellow jersey as they say, is the local contender, Mrs. Felicidad E. Burgonio.

The dazzling Mayor, Honorable Kimi S. Cojuangco, our very able Vice-Mayor Bensaulozacheus Marinas and his better half, Madam Juliet Marinas, are all exerting tremendous effort and influence in the hope of making this the best town festival ever in Sison.

Let us therefore be one during this festivity. A one caring municipality.

ADDITIONAL UPDATES:
On November 29, 2007, a mass oath taking ceremony was held in Sison. There were a total of 16 officials per barangay, multipliedt by 28 (the total number of barangays in Sison), who took the oath administered by the Honorable Mayor.

After the mass oath taking, holiday festivities commenced with the lighting of the giant Christmas tree constructed at the main entrance of the Municipal Hall. A thousand little stars were lit and one big guiding star shone brightest from the top of the Christmas tree. These lighted stars were sponsored by private individuals, the Department of Education family and others. The biggest and guiding star was sponsored by the Honorable Congressman, Mark O. Cojuangco, for the amount of P50,000.00. The smaller stars were worth P150.00 each. The Honorable Mayor sponsored 200 little stars and the USA Lola together with Mr. & Mrs. Willy Palitang also sponsored eleven.

The theme of this fund raising activity is “SHARE A STAR, ADOPT A SCHOOL”. The lighting of this marvelous Christmas tree signifies hope, peace and prosperity for all the constituents of the town of Sison. A concept adopted from the dream of the late Vice Mayor Ben Marinas and NCC Plant Manager, Engineer Emeterio N. Asuncion.

:-) What a nice looking couple. Thanks to Vice-Mayor Marinas and Mrs. Marinas for all the extra effort put forth to make the Sison Fiesta one that will be remembered for some time. Thanks also to all the un-named Municipal workers that work behind the scenes to make it look easy (we all know it takes work :-) ). Together we can make Sison #1 in the whole Pangasinan region. Hollywood might have Brangelina but in Sison, we have Markimi! Way to go guys!!

Wow! Nagpardas dayta nga sungbat da apo. Talaga nga easier sa ti panagresearch no idtoy ti pangalaan ti information. Mabalin kadi ti agsaludsod apo? Pakabirukan ngata ti facts and figures about the population of Sison? Ammok nga adda dita Sison website pay laeng ti mano nga detalye ngem I’m looking for data on specific number of :
    1) OFWs from Sison (citizens of Sison, Phil.)
    2) Percentage of population of Sison below poverty line, or the piegraph of the income levels of the citizens of Sison
    3) Job or nature of employment of the majority of Sisonians or the breakdown of the population, etc. Is there such record or research? I heard about the recently conducted census (August I think). I wonder if the data are available online?

Thank you very much sirs, madams for any direction to find these facts I need for my paper. I am writing an essay about the Eradication of Poverty, and I’d talk about 2 towns separately (Sison and Pasay City) places I am familiar with. Thank you to the ever energetic Sison Administration.

Hi Emz! Sis It seems that you are already researching something for your thesis or your schooling. As far as I remember if am not mistaken Joy ot Juliet informed us before that the IT is working on the Official Website of our Town since we can see that they are still using the site under the past administration and I think that is a good questions being asked that they can consider or add it to the new one they are working on.
