Jeanette on Nov 30th 2007

Here is another update on the activities that kicks off the fiesta season in Sison from Kagawad Loejan Anudon.

COME HOME AND LET US ALL BE TOGETHER IN CELEBRATING OUR 2007 TOWN FIESTA”

These are the words of our very own Honorable Vice-Mayor, Bensaulozacheus Marinas, the son of the late former Vice Mayor, Ben Marinas.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at PhotobucketThis young and fine-looking Vice Mayor is the Executive Chairman of the Sison Town Fiesta 2007. With the full support and assistance of his better half, Madam. Juliet Marinas, who is also the Executive Assistant to the Office of the Mayor, and with the full backing of Mayor Kimi S. Cojuangco, Vice-Mayor Marinas excellently designed this magnificent forthcoming grand festival. The splendid conception of this forthcoming event is credited to the Honorable Mayor Kimi Conjuangco and the duo with the full cooperation and participation of the Honorable Members of the Sanggunian Bayan and all municipal staffs.

Palluok in Labayug

Jeanette on Nov 29th 2007

This is the Quiet Cool team of Sagunto strutting their stuff during the program in Labayug, 1991. This was a dance previously mentioned here, when the team presented their dance during the Sagunto bario fiesta, 1990.

This is just a preview of more to come. This long lost dance, that we had a difficulty finding still photos of, has a video! So stay tuned, this is just a preview of what’s to come.

Let all these videos of tribal celebrations remind you, donations are still needed for the tribal instruments and costumes requested by the Tribal Council. Let’s please keep this project in mind as you consider your holiday gift giving.

Congressman Pledges P125K for Reyna ang Lola Ko

Jeanette on Nov 28th 2007

The update below was received from Kagawad Loejan Anudon who was present at this meeting.

“USA LOLA AND MAYOR KIMI LUNCH DATE”

The storm had passed, it was a bright sunny day, a very pleasant moment for a lunch date with the Honorable Mayor.

Mrs. Irene Malqued Florendo, USA candidate for the search For Ang Lola Kong Reyna, arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport on the 26th of November at about one o’clock in the morning. A day after, a lunch date was set for her, Mr. & Mrs. Willy Palitang (benefactors of Barangay Sagunto who are also retirees from the US and members of the Sagunto Organization, USA) and the Honorable Mayor.

Before the salo-salo (get together), the Honorable Mayor showed them the auditorium (where the proceeds of the search will be spent) from her office window. The food has not yet arrived so she insisted that we should all see the Senior Citizens building even though construction is still ongoing but hoping to be completed before the town fiesta. The visitors were amazed to see the grand project: huge air-conditioned conference rooms, architect designed ceilings, spacious restrooms equipped with modern fixtures, two wide kitchens, sweeping verandas and other features.
