The photos and update regarding the mayor’s clean up and greening of Sison were received from Mr. Loejan Anudon and Ms. Joy Julaton, our liaisons with the Mayor’s office in Sison.

Continuing the thread of the ongoing clean up process where Mr. Jaime Competente, Employee of the Month, was an instrumental contributor, Loejan and Joy just informed us that four more dumptrucks (with compactors) are coming to Sison.

According to Loejan, “The honorable mayor wants to maintain the green scenery of our town. She prefers this humble municipality than those progressive towns and cities nearby because of its green surroundings and better air. The honorable congressman Mark O. Cojuangco strongly supports the strict implementation of cleanliness within the municipality of Sison, and to this end has allocated thirty million pesos (P30,000,000.00) from the Congressional Development Fund (CDF), for the municipality of Sison to be implemented on the first quarter of 2008.”

Loejan also reports that “The Department of Education is being tapped to spearhead the campaign by allotting a time schedule to allow the school children and students to go out and clean their nearby surroundings. This program will also help develop the children’s involvement towards community development.”

Wow, how nice!!! Thank you Congressman Cojuangco for your support in the “Greening” of Sison. That’s a wonderful idea with the school kids being involved in the clean-up. I remember doing exactly the same thing back in my days in Artacho Elementary :-) in 19– (?) Cheers to Mayor Cojuangco for initiating all these programs. You have given the people of Sison hope for a better tomorrow. The foundations that you’re laying down now will be the barometer for others to follow.

Thank you for these trucks and equipment for the greening and cleaning of Sison, Sison Admin and community councils! The town has long awaited for these, and at last, here they are from the generous sources. The communities must be very happy for all services…AND EVEN HAPPIER IF THERE WILL BE NO MORE GARBAGE DISPOSAL CHARGES, :-)
How much does each family give, may I ask?

The youth should indeed be pushed and empowered as before. I also remember having completed YCAP or Youth Civic Action Program as a requirement for High School graduation back in “greener times” . What has happened to that program? There was a certain number of required hours spent for tree planting and other civic involvement in the community. It would be a great move reviving such program. True, it is hard encouraging young people and other groups now to get involved without much reward and reinforcement; my 3G project still awaits responses and sad to say not many are interested to spend time for planning and doing. With this new policy being reinforced, everyone would soon realize the need for citizen’s “mandatory contribution”. The Nobel Foundation has one big message for us all in making Al Gore and his ” Inconvenient Truth” a Nobel Peace winner. We’ve got to move to protect what is left and renew our environment. (Ops, look who’s talking…I need to clean my own backyard too…Say how much is a day’s rent for a garbage truck? I have tons to dump and recycle).
Hello Apo Cesar, adda kadin simmungabat kadagiti applicants for 3G- GOING GREEN GROUP contest? Please note that I’ve moved the deadline to next year October, 2008.
CHEERS TO ALL WORKING FOR A GREENER AND SAFER WORLD!!!

Sison is a very small town in terms of land area compared to other municipalities in the country but the Place is very rich place in terms of its nature, culture and its People and so am just glad that the Mayor is so observant to this and that she wants to preserve its nature to the best based on the report of our correspondents Loejan and Joy. Our Town is a part of Global changes but not to the extend that we need to exploit our natural resources who is our Protector in times of Disaster.

We can never thank the Congressman enough for this. Allotting this amount for Sison proves how much the town means to you, Congressman Cojuangco. Your tandem contributions with the Mayor would finally speed up development for our beloved town; it has been a stagnant growth for decades but but your growing enthusiasm to assist the town get up on its knees touches us all and will serve as inspiration as well to those who’ve left the place to again share a bit of their attention to realize these dreams we have for Sison. Mabuhay! Agbiag ti Sison!

To the Congressman and the Mayor,

Your partnership in working towards the progress of Sison deserves the highest commendation. Congratulations and thank you very much. I am sure that my dad (the late Moises Alamay) is very happy watching from above. He would have loved so much to keep working with you.

To the beautiful and diligent Mayor, your appreciation of kuya Jaime’s humble but true effort is very heart-warming. Your gesture I believe will encourage the rest to do their jobs with diligence. He really does his job heartily. Thank you so much.

    Mabuhay po kayo,
    Elizabeth
