Ay wen gayam, ayan da Uncle Joel Castillo tattan?

Calling all Sagunto OFWs, ayan yon? Please let us know where you are, what’s the latest news and happenings in your corner of the world? (Puera lang ni Lolo Ireneo ta no umay ditoy a ket alalya, ngeek!)

I know Uncle Narding edited Lolo Ireneo’s printed comment. The unedited version probably went something like this:
“Six months of working with those &^%$(lazy Americans is too long! Siak ketdin nga Don ti balay me ken Sagunto ti mandarran ti puraw?! Kasus! agawid dak laengen ta innak diay ayan da Martin nga makitungtung!” Right Uncle Narding? Bwahahaha…..
    truth in jest.

Babot, kunak ngarud nga dyay bruce willis ti smile contest ni uncle joel castillo. Ngem saan ko la ammo no adda da pay laeng dita barrio wenno nag-abroad da manen.

Wen malagip ko dagita nga pannawen. Those were the Hongkong and Saudi years (80’s) when lots of our barrio folks and relatives left for these countries. The next decade (90’s) had the Hongkongers move to Canada and the Saudis come back home or migrate to other countries esp. Japan, Australia, UK and USA. Many Pinoy ex-saudis are still here in Japan, already in their 20th yr as TNTs.

But whatever hardships, I still salute our workers. Pinoy workers are the best in the world.

    Mabuhay ang Manggagawang Pilipino!

It was 1966 di pimmanaw kami ti Sagunto. I was 8. I’m wondering where my friends Nina, and Masing, and Helen, many others are today. These were kids I went to school with at Northern Luzon Academy. Ms
Brilliantes was one of my teachers there. It’s been many years, but I hope I have a chance to chat with
    them somehow.

Hello Manang Memory, I dont’t know if you are referring to these people I know. Ante Masing (Missy Sacking-Ford) is now in England. You may try to contact her via SFAL website. Take Aunt Tessie’s mobile phone from there and ask her cousin’s number. I’m afraid Aunt Masing can’t use a computer either (hahaha). Aunt Helen Castillo-Garcia is occasionally in Sagunto, but she is now based in Bulacan. Sha has a house there. Her kids and former husband are now in USA. She doesn’t go online, but once I got her number, I’ll email you. Please visit us here often, or if you can come to sagunto again esp. this December, you can see most of your missed friends and relatives.

    Aloha emz

Planno mi ti agbisita into no December, providing our passports are approved by then. I’m anxious to
visit my brother Henry Sunang, my aunty Gertrude Biteng. Will bring my camera and take tons of
pictures of Sagunto! It’s been like 45 some years, Im sure it’s not as it used to be. Almost on a daily
basis, I dwell on this site, just longing to be there.

Manang Memory, that’s great thinking of coming back to Sagunto! Mahalo! I think I was in grade one when I often heard your name. It rings a bell and it’s a unique name (pronounced as “mimore” by our folks, hehe).
